PAN signature resizer — Form 93 / 94 DSC upload spec

The Protean DSC digital-upload table lists the signature as a colour JPEG at 200 DPI, 4.5 × 2 cm — a landscape image of about 354 × 157 pixels — with a maximum of 10 KB. Crop closely around your signature, keep strokes readable, and let the tool verify every constraint before download.

Getting a scan that passes

  1. 1Sign with a dark, medium pen on plain white paper; keep the signature large and unbroken. Scan or photograph straight-on in daylight, without shadows.
  2. 2Add the image and crop tightly so margins do not eat into the 10 KB budget. The frame is locked to the 2 : 4.5 portrait ratio.
  3. 3Avoid the black-and-white filter for this route — the source asks for a colour scan.
  4. 4Prepare and check: the export verifies 354 × 157 px, writes 200 DPI density tags, and compresses until the file is ≤ 10,240 bytes (10 × 1024).
  5. 5Download and compare with the live portal instructions, then upload there. Content checks like stamping over coloured backgrounds stay outside the tool's control.

Common questions

Why 2 × 4.5 cm (portrait) for the signature?

The DSC guidance table lists the signature scan as 2 × 4.5 cms at 200 DPI. The source labels dimensions without w/h_words, so the tool reads 2X4.5 as height × width = 354 × 157 px landscape, matching the shape of a signature line.

10 KB is extremely tight. Any tips?

Crop as close to the signature as the ratio allows, avoid heavy background darkness, and let the quality search work. If even the smallest attempt stays over 10,240 bytes, the tool shows a clear failure instead of a fake pass.

My signature upload failed despite passing checks. Why?

Portals can validate content such as background colour, ink clarity, stamping, or file names. Re-check the live instructions, and use the custom mode if your portal displays other values.
