PAN photo resizer — Form 93 / 94 DSC upload spec
You are preparing a colour JPEG photograph for the Protean DSC digital-upload table: 2.5 × 3.5 cm at 200 DPI (≈ 197 × 276 px, portrait), maximum 20 KB. Below is the exact table, why the printed form size is different, and how to verify before submitting.
Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Step by step
- 1Confirm the route. This profile applies to the Protean DSC digital upload for Forms 93/94 — the printed paper Form 93 uses different (physical) photo boxes, and other portals may use yet another table.
- 2Add your photo. JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MiB. iPhone HEIC works if your browser can decode it; otherwise switch your camera to 'Most Compatible' and retake or export as JPEG.
- 3Crop to the preset ratio. The frame is locked to 3.5 : 2.5. Enlarging a very small crop is warned about instead of hidden.
- 4Prepare and check. The tool resizes to exactly 197 × 276 px, writes 200 DPI into the JFIF/EXIF density tags, and compresses until it verifies the file is ≤ 20,480 bytes.
- 5Download and compare with your live portal instructions, then upload there. PanCard Resizer Online cannot check photo content or guarantee portal acceptance.
What the requirement panel shows
The panels below render straight from the reviewed registry. The physical panel is shown deliberately — it is the number most likely to be confused with this digital table.
Both panels above come from the same reviewed registry — see the full table with sources below.
Common questions
Where exactly do these numbers come from?
The photograph entry in Protean's DSC-based application guidance table: colour JPEG, 200 DPI, max 20 KB, 3.5×2.5 cm. Pixels are derived as cm × 200 ÷ 2.54 rounded to the nearest pixel (197 × 276), reading 3.5X2.5 as height × width like the printed form box, and '20 KB' is read as 20 × 1024 = 20,480 bytes. The linked source shows the original wording.
My portal asks for a different size. What now?
Use the custom mode inside the tool: enter the exact width, height and KB the live form displays. Custom exports are marked 'not an official preset' rather than dressed up as compliant.
Why does the physical form panel show 4.5 × 3.5 cm?
The paper Form 93 has photo boxes labelled 4.5 × 3.5 cm for pasted prints — a different requirement from the digital table. PanCard Resizer Online shows both so the classic mix-up is visible, not hidden.
Will my photo be accepted?
The tool verifies dimensions, bytes, format and density metadata. Content rules (face, background, recency) and live portal behaviour are outside its control, so no acceptance is promised.
