These are the only values PanCard Resizer Online uses — the same registry drives the UI, the export engine, validation and tests.

'KB' is read as 1024 bytes; the exact byte cap is shown in the tool. Pixels derive from cm × DPI ÷ 2.54, rounded to the nearest pixel. See each page for the full source quotes.

Privacy, in plain language

  • Decoding, cropping, resizing and encoding all happen in this browser. There is no server upload step in the tool.
  • Working images are not written to localStorage, IndexedDB or service-worker caches; reloading the page clears the working state.
  • Analytics, if enabled, receives only aggregate events — filenames, image data and crop coordinates are rejected in code before any event is sent.

Frequently asked questions

What are the current PAN application photo requirements?

For the Protean DSC-based digital upload for Forms 93/94, the official guidance table lists a colour JPEG photograph at 200 DPI, 2.5 × 3.5 cm, maximum 20 KB — and separately, the printed Form 93 uses two 4.5 × 3.5 cm photos pasted on paper. These are different contexts; the official paper form PDF was used for the printed size and the Protean guidance page for the DSC upload table. Always confirm the live form before submitting.

What is the signature size for an online PAN application?

The Protean DSC guidance for Form 93/94 lists the signature as a colour JPEG at 200 DPI, 4.5 × 2 cm, maximum 10 KB. PanCard Resizer Online encodes '10 KB' as 10 × 1024 = 10,240 bytes and shows the exact byte cap. Other portals may differ, so check the form you are using.

Does PanCard Resizer Online upload my photo or signature anywhere?

No. Decoding, cropping, resizing, compression and PDF creation run entirely in your browser. The file you select is never sent to a server by this tool. If an optional analytics provider is configured, it receives only aggregate events such as tool names and success/failure categories — never image content, filenames or crop details.

Is PanCard Resizer Online an official government website?

No. PanCard Resizer Online is an independent utility and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Income Tax Department, Protean (NSDL), UTIITSL, or any government body. Links to official portals are references only, and meeting the selected technical settings does not guarantee acceptance.

The UTIITSL figures differ from other websites. Why?

The current UTIITSL digital-upload pixel and byte limits could not be confirmed from a primary source for this release, so PanCard Resizer Online publishes them as 'not verified' and asks you to enter the values shown on the live form instead of inventing numbers. Third-party figures such as 213 × 213 or 400 × 200 are treated as unconfirmed legacy references.
